FSQA Supervisor - Salaried Level 1

WHO'S IN THE KITCHEN:

The FSQA Supervisor oversees a team of 8+ QA Associates across all areas of the Blue Apron Fulfillment Center, reporting directly to the FSQA Manager. The FSQA Supervisor is thefront-line people manager for the Food Safety / Quality team managing all hourly roles for their assigned shift.

WHAT’S ON THE MENU:

  • Is responsible fortraining of both FSQA and/or production employees on matters of food safety and quality as needed.
  • Serve as a people manager that coaches, trains and develops all direct reports.
  • Manage time cards and payroll reporting for all direct reports, engaging with necessary departments to ensure accuracy.
  • Manages associate’s head count on a shift by shift basis, ensuring that HC aligns withany changes in the production plan.
  • Provides performance feedback to all direct reports with an action plan for improvement.
  • Supervises all applicable FSQA programs and processes as per product specs to ensure food safety, regulatory compliance, product standards and customer standards are met.
  • Participates in daily supervisor meetingsand weekly Manager meetingson qualityand Food Safetyrelated matters.
  • Responsible foroverseeingcompletion and updating of shift’s QAA job descriptions andtraining program for all new QAA’s.
  • Assist facilities with local training needs inclusive of, but not limited to, Allergens,Good Manufacturing practices (GMP’s), HACCP and Preventive Controls.Must gain knowledge and have a good understanding of all quality and food safety programs tobe able to relate instructions to QAA’s and conductaudits of the product and process –responsible for the well being of all FSQA activities.
  • Must share daily information with FSQA Supervisors on other shifts. Maintain a good working relation with both management and hourly employees.
  • Must perform as a member of management with a positive attitude and be open minded.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY INGREDIENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science or comparable industry experience
  • 3+ years Food Safety/Quality Assurance Experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years Supervisory experience
  • Experience with direct performance management
  • Certifications – GFSI, Audit experience
  • Effective communication skills (Both verbal and written)
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 49 pounds repetitively with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Exposure to temperatures that range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers, freezers, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach about and below shoulders; repetitive use of hands with or without reasonable accommodation
