WHO'S IN THE KITCHEN


We’re looking for a Kitchen Manager to oversee a team of up to 5 Supervisors and 100+ full-time associates. As Kitchen Manager, you’ll set the strategic vision for your team on both a daily and long-term basis. You’ll be responsible for completing the daily plan and holding your Supervisors accountable for the team’s performance.  This person must be willing to work an overnight shift.


WHAT'S ON THE MENU


  • Own process improvement for your department, both driving improvements and delegating to your team, including creating weekly reports on department specific metrics
  • Establish area performance standards and goals, and hold your team accountable to hitting them
  • Put sustainable, repeatable processes in place; hold your team accountable to following them and empower your staff to suggest process improvements
  • Build and develop your team. Hold regular 1:1s with Supervisors to ensure their development and own the onboarding and training of all new team leads and supervisors
  • Own safety of the team and of the food to ensure a safe working environment 100% of the time; ensure the facility and associates comply with all state, federal and local regulatory agencies
  • Inspire passion and commitment; ensure that Blue Apron is every team member's favorite place to work

NECESSARY INGREDIENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of successful managerial leadership experience in a food production environment, running a warehouse department, and/or working in operations at a start-up.
  • Experience owning quality and efficiency KPIs, and driving them in the right direction.
  • Clear and concise communicator, verbal and written.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Excel and knowledge with WMS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S
  • Must satisfactorily complete a background check and drug screen upon conditional offer
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • Must be willing and able to maintain production pace of equipment
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and intermediate troubleshooting skills
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to handle exposure to temperatures and range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers, freezers, etc.) with or without accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to frequently push, pill, squat, bend and reach with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing to work an overnight shift
