Job Description

The Machine Operator I, under the direction of the Kitchen Team Lead and Area Manager, sets up and operates all production machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Additionally, with the support of the Automation Manager and Maintenance Department, helps develop and train standard operating procedures. This position will be located in our Arlington, TX fulfillment center.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, calibrates, loads and verify that the assigned machinery has been properly put back together from sanitation crew along with scales and their proper function
  • Performs changeovers with a sense of urgency
  • Properly breaks-down and thoroughly cleans all equipment, as well as resetting for the next shift
  • Follow and complete the daily production schedule, including changes that may occur during the course of the day
  • Complete all paperwork including, but not limited to, PCP as well as system productivity and downtime record
  • Follow product quality checks: specification check, packing check, produce quality check, seal integrity check and code date check
  • Self-directed and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision
  • Helps develop and train new machine operators following Blue Apron standard operating procedures
  • When required, provide assistance installing and commissioning new equipment
  • Perform duties effectively in a highly diverse teamwork environment

Qualifications

  • Prior working experience operating industrial packaging machinery; food manufacturing experience
  • Able to work in an industrial, cold-room environment with moderate/intermittent noise
  • Have knowledge of mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Ability to uphold safety, food safety, and production quality and freshness standards
  • Basic computer skills

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S
  • Must satisfactorily complete a background check and drug screen upon conditional offer
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • Must be willing and able to maintain production pace of equipment
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and intermediate troubleshooting skills
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to handle exposure to temperatures and range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers, freezers, etc.) with or without accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to frequently push, pill, squat, bend and reach with or without reasonable accommodation
