WHO'S IN THE KITCHEN 

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to oversee a team of 4 Team Leads and 50+ full-time associates in our Fulfillment Center. As a front line Manager all associates on your team will report directly to you. You’ll be responsible for coaching leads, associates and holding the team accountable to all department processes and procedures, at all times.  

WHAT’S ON THE MENU

  • Owns the safety of the team, ensures that all Associates are in a safe working environment 100% of the time. 

  • Ensures that all the work area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

  • By owning the team’s quality, GMP and uniform standards, ensures that we send out a quality product to our customers

  • Trains and Supports Team Leads and oversees the execution of the new hire training program.  Owns development of associates into Runner, QAA, Clerical and Team Lead roles.

  • Owns the execution and compliance of SOPs; Holds direct reports accountable for discrepancies or performance concerns in partnership with the HR department.

  • Coaches, motivates and challenges the team to achieve and exceed daily performance goals

  • Engages and shows respect to associates on a daily basis; builds team morale to drive productivity and quality standards

  • Holds the team accountable for patterns and behaviors around timekeeping, GMP compliance, Quality and Performance in partnership with Human Resources and/or Shift Managers.  

  • Uses progressive discipline process for performance/attendance and develops corrective action documentation for approval. Manages development conversations and corrective actions.

  • Models Blue Apron values and leadership competencies at all times to support the building leaders and to provide an example to their associates.

  • Executes process improvement for your department, both driving improvements and delegating to your team, including creating weekly reports on department specific metrics

  • Holds regular 1:1s with Team Leads to ensure their development and own the onboarding and training of all new team leads and supervisors

  • Identifies associates with potential for promotion on your team, including: identifying primary and backups for critical roles and creating training plans for every critical role.  

  • Completes daily end of shift reports

  • Interviews hourly Associates to select new team members and represent the Blue Apron values 

  • Identifies obstacles to team objectives and partnering with the AGM to optimize team performance.

  • Manages team performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including Safety, Quality, Cost, Engagement and Delivery

  • Inspires passion and commitment. Ensure that Blue Apron is every Associate’s favorite place to work!

NECESSARY INGREDIENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3-5 years of successful managerial leadership experience in a food production environment, running a warehouse department, and/or demonstrated experience at Blue Apron 

  • Clear and concise communicator, verbal and written.

  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

  • Proficient in Excel and knowledge with WMS

  • Experience owning quality and efficiency KPIs, and driving them in the right direction.

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S

  • Must be willing and able to work weekends, overtime and holidays as required

  • Must be willing and able to maintain production pace of equipment

  • Must have mechanical aptitude and intermediate troubleshooting skills

  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Must be willing and able to handle exposure to temperatures and range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers, freezers, etc.) with or without accommodation

  • Must be willing and able to frequently push, pill, squat, bend and reach with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Must be willing to work an overnight shift
